About Java for Jesus

Java for Jesus is a new outreach program for FPCNE. Java for Jesus is not a coffeehouse in the sense that you may be thinking of when you hear the word ‘coffeehouse.’ People do not wander in and out and randomly jump up on stage to perform. Yes, we do have coffee, and tea and cold drinks. Yes, there are people presenting on stage but that is about as far as the comparison goes.

Java for Jesus is an opportunity to share an aspect of your faith, no matter how you feel called. Poetry, songs, skits, art work, scripture reading, sharing a story, dance and anything else you can think of is appropriate. Each coffeehouse will have a theme and participants are asked to work within that theme. Our coordinator, Nancy Roos, will work with participants and encourage them to develop their faith expression.

Java for Jesus Needs YOU!

Everyone is encouraged to participate in the coffeehouse experience. We can not stress enough that this is not a professional performance opportunity. If you are interested in participating in any coffeehouse, please speak with Nancy. We also need volunteers to work with sound, lights, coffee preparation, decorating, advertising and bulletin preparation. There will be no charge for the program. A free will offering will be collected at each coffeehouse. The proceeds will be used to support the missions of the church.
